Music, History, Videos, and More!

Welcome to Music History at Hughbass.com where the modern world intersects with records from the past!

This site is where I explore how music permeates history, and how that story intersects with our modern era. Find information of bluegrass, blues, jazz, grunge, EMD, reggae, even Sumerian and other ancient cultures- just about any type of genre you can think of- and it’s likely here.

In the links you will find videos of my solo compositions, collaborations, and performances with local and world renowned artist.  The section on poetry has hundreds of works to browse, and the Feature Article section grows on a weekly basis.

There is a support page below and in the main menu if you would like to contribute to this site. I enjoy reading and responding to comments, so please don’t be shy!

They Say It’s Wonderful - Irving Berlin

AMANDA SANDOVAL SINGS!

Listen to the amazing talent of Amanda Sandoval as she lends her talent to this wonderful rendition of “They Say It’s Wonderful” by Irving Berlin. Amanda suggested the song as a Valentine’s Day collaboration. I was honored to participate in the project and contribute the music. Enjoy!
